During the last month, four members of Lindstrand Hot Air Balloons travelled to meet some of its Dealers. Between them they clocked-up a total of 21,768 miles (as the crow flies), flying 58 hours and crossed three continents.
Simon Forse, managing director, met with Lindstrand America in Galena, Illinois to support its participation at a maintenance seminar for approved repair stations in the US. The seminar was very well attended and was the first event where two leading manufacturers combined forces to offer advice and guidance on maintenance procedures. Lindstrand America has been established since the early 1990’s and has grown to become the premier manufacturer of hot air balloons in the US.
Kelvin Oakley, Lindstrand sales, visited our South African dealer Marty de Kock based in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg. Marty has been Lindstrand’s South African dealer for four years and has over 30 years ballooning experience. Kelvin spent a few days with Marty and his team discussing current local and global market conditions and getting a better understanding of ballooning in South Africa.
Whilst in Europe, Kevin Pilsbury, general manager, visited Pieter Kooistra in The Netherlands. Pieter hosted a dedicated Lindstrand Open Day to launch his new premises in Joure. Over 80 pilots and balloon enthusiasts visited the new facility. Pieter has also recently achieved EASA Part F Maintenance certificate.
In Austria, Chris Sanger-Davies, Lindstrand sales, flew out to support Lindstrand’s recently appointed Austrian dealer, Christian Muth. Christian exhibited at the annual Austrian Aero Club Safety conference to raise awareness of the Lindstrand brand and its products including, Lindstrand’s market leading JetStream burners and its glass bottom basket which proved popular at the event.
